Welcome to Art Pro Net. My name is Kelly Bennett and I am so excited to start this new group and adventure. I really appreciate you checking out my blog and website. Just a little bit about me: I have been working in art managment for over 20 years as a exhibition planner, collections manager, installer, mover, and packer. I have worked with everything from large scale outdoor installations to international traveling exhibitions, and recently was involved in the move of the Berkeley Art Museum including their collection.
One of my favorite parts of this job is all the different people I get to meet and work with everyday. I have worked all over the country, but since moving to Bay Area six years ago after getting my Master of Art Managment at SUNY Buffalo I have found a wonderful new home on the West Coast. This area has an amazing and diverse patchwork of people and cities that support a vibrant arts community, and I love being a part of it.
My goal in writing this blog and starting Art Pro Net is to find new ways to connect the Bay Area/Northern California art professional community with each other. I also want to created connections with all the different people who might be searching for professionals to help them with installation, conservation, and other needs they might have. As an industry we have our own language and standards that is not innate to everyone. I have been asked often to consult with people who work in related fields such as interior design, personal art collecting, and trade exhibition display. There are many contract jobs where art pros are needed and I want to help make those connections as well.
I will be writting blogs based on subjects that I get asked about a lot, and I am also hoping to start a regular email blast of job postings that are sent my way. If you are interested in posting a job, finding a contractor, or being on the email blast please send me message through the contact section of this page. You can also email me at artpronet@yahoo.com. Feel free to also send questions you might have and I would be happy answer them in a blog or one on one.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope you come back to ready more.
Happy 2018!
